It was the same story for Bengalureans, who had to deal with traffic snarls and waterlogging.
A downpour in Bengaluru on Thursday afternoon threw traffic out of gear in many parts of India’s IT capital, as streets turned into rivers once again. While residents were forced to wade through waterlogged streets, motorists had to deal with traffic snarls and battle their way through flooded roads.
But there appears to be no respite for the city as the Karnataka State Disaster Monitoring Centre has forecast moderate rainfall till Fridaymorning.
“Till 5pm, the highest rainfall of 60.5mm was recorded in Sampangiramanagar, followed by BTM Layout which saw 59mm of rainfall. 53.55mm of rainfall was recorded in Shivanagar,” Shubha Avinash, Project Scientist, Hydrology of the KSNDMC told TNM.
On Wednesday, 60 of KSDMC’s stations recorded moderate rainfall (7.5-35mm), while three stations recorded heavy rainfall (35.5 to 64.5mm). “The average rainfall was at 16.24mm,” Subha added.

Among the worst-affected roads include Electronic City near PESIT College, Nayandahalli Junction, Shantinagar, Bellandur Ecospace junctions, the Bengaluru Traffic police tweeted.

Benglauru received 513.8mm of rainfall last month, making it one of the wettest since September 1986.
