Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday filed his affidavit from Chamundeshwari constituency in Mysuru. Unlike several of his super rich colleagues in the Congress party who own assets worth hundreds of crores each, Siddaramaiah has declared that his total assets amount to Rs 11.2 crore only.
He has declared that his wife Parvathi owns assets worth Rs 7.6 crore and that his Hindu Undivided Family jointly owns assets worth Rs 1.6 crore.
In 2013, when Siddaramaiah had filed his affidavit from Varuna, he had declared assets worth Rs 5.16 crore – around half of what he has declared now. His wife, he had declared owned assets worth Rs 2.75 crore. In the intervening years of 2013 and 2018, his assets as well as his wife’s have more than doubled.
Siddaramaiah also declared that he has no cases pending against him in any court of law. Totally, the number of complaints filed against CM Siddaramaiah with the Lokayukta is 44. However, the complaints are at various stages of inquiry and the Anti-Corruption Bureau has not registered any FIRs against the CM.
